5th Annual Rock The Boat Gala to benefit Youth Sailing Foundation

Due to the Coronavirus emergency, this event has been cancelled!

Youth Sailing Foundation relies almost entirely on funding by individual donors, and our Rock The Boat gala is our #1 source of income. You can still become a Rock The Boat supporter and contribute directly to our efforts to change young lives in Indian River County.

YSF is a vibrant and rapidly growing 501(c)(3) non-profit with an increasingly visible presence in Vero Beach and beyond. Here's a glimpse of the various ways your gift will have an impact:

  • Sailing develops self-confidence, accountability, decision-making, teamwork, STEM principles, environmental stewardship, and a host of other benefits attributing to well-rounded successful young lives.
  • YSF's programs are free of charge, eliminating financial and other demographic barriers and reaching a broad range of Indian River County children, regardless of background and means.
  • More than 150 students, ages 8 to 18, participate in YSF programs on a weekly basis.
  • Teen participation has doubled this year alone; a new JV program augments the well-established Vero Beach Varsity Sailing Team.
  • Demand for elementary and middle school programs far exceeds current resources. ยท
  • YSF now offers special-needs sailing for children and adults.
  • YSF summer camps have expanded threefold, with 20% of 2018 participants receiving full or partial scholarships funded by YSF donors.
  • Cooperative efforts with environmental agencies engage young sailors in hands-on ecological projects.
  • YSF partners with Boys & Girls Club, Homeless Children's Foundation, Gifford Youth Achievement Center, Youth Guidance, The Arc, and Special Olympics Florida-Indian River County to reach underserved and special needs individuals.
