Entering its second decade of service to Indian River County, Youth Sailing Foundation is successfully reaching into the local community and building confidence and character through our free sailing instruction.
- Over 160 youth and special needs sailors participate weekly in free sailing programs. This is a threefold increase in enrollment over just 2.5 years.
- Our sailors reflect the diversity of the larger community as we successfully reach an increasing number of Hispanic and African-American students through the local schools.
- Special needs sailing empowers individuals of all ages who are referred to YSF by The ARC, Special Olympics Florida, and the Veterans Council.
- Forty-four local children received YSF-funded full or partial scholarships to Summer Sailing Camp. This is 30% of total camp enrollment.
- YSF continues to establish and cultivate synergistic collaborations with area agencies such as Boys & Girls Club, Homeless Children's Foundation, Youth Guidance, Gifford Youth Achievement Center, and ORCA.
YSF relies entirely on private funding from individual donors, and the Rock The Boat annual gala is our #1 source of operating income. This is a fun way to support our mission and make a lasting difference in the lives of our local youth. Won't you help us "Rock The Boat"?
